"The Green Mile" Answers

1. Grace- in the movie grace is evident when John saves people's lives, when he shares his cake with the other prisoners, when he tells the prison guards it's OK that he is innocent and he doesn't hold a grudge against them, he forgives them. Another act of grace is when the prison guards forgive and don't let anyone know about Percy not putting the sponge on Dal's head.

New life- When John heals everyone and gives those he heals a fresh chance to live. He gives Paul and Mr Jingles a new and eternal life. John helps Paul understand he is unhappy in his job and influences his change of direction in his life/ change of job.

2. John has a huge impact on Paul and changes his life forever. John heals Paul, helps him see the good in life and also helps him realize that he does not like his job and helps influence him to quit. Help him see the difference between good and bad. Helps him understand what grace is.

3. The film helps me to understand what grace, new life, forgiveness, inheritance etc.. means and how it can be found in life. The film also taught me that bad people exist but so do good people. The film also taught me that everyone deserves a second chance to change, although sometimes they don't change...

Malcom X Vs Martin Luther King Jnr

To put it bluntly Malcom X believes in being fair whereas Martin Luther King Jnr believes in forgiveness. Forgiveness is often the harder thing to follow. I agree with Malcom X probably because freedom is essential to me and so is being fair. If someone doesn't want to associate with me why should I bother with them? If someone doesn't treat me right why should I treat them right? I do believe that you should be courteous, peaceful, obey the law, respect everyone but if they are rude and don't respect you, ignore them.
I don't believe in violence and would never turn to it to solve my problems.

Grace in a real life scenario

A gracious response for Mario would be to forgive his ex- wife, Jenny, and let her see the kids again. Welcome her back into his life as though nothing happened. Forgiveness.

In a real life scenario an example of grace could be as follows:

"Slow down!" Yells Stacy, "You know I didn't mean it!"
I look back at my sister who's face was red and stained with tears.
I then continue to run towards the front door.
As my hand reaches for the door knob I freeze and look down at my teddy bear... His head is ripped off and there is a stuffing trail leading from the lounge room. I look at her fcae one more time...
"Fine!" I whisper as I drop to the floor. She drops down as well and crawls over to me.
"Sorry..." she whispers into my ear as she wraps her arms around my neck...
